'I've Tried Dozens Of Workout Leggings, And My Favorites Are Under $40'

I've worked in the fitness and health industry for nearly 10 years now, which means I've tried on A LOT of workout leggings—expensive leggings, fleece-lined leggings, mesh-paneled leggings, glow-in-the-dark leggings, sculpting leggings—all in the name of research, of course. After all, I know it's tough to get in a decent workout if your waistband is creeping down every time you do a jumping jack, or if you're concerned that the whole weights room can see your hot-pink undies through your pants every time you touch your toes. (An unfortunate occurrence most of us have witnessed at the gym at least once before.) Over the years, one brand of leggings has consistently delivered in terms of comfort, appearance, functionality, and durability, though. And no, they're not the most expensive leggings that have ever come across my desk. That's right: My favorite workout leggings are from Target's line of C9 Champion Activewear. Target's workout pants never slide down mid-run, nor do they pinch at my waist. Most of their leggings feature a wide waistband that sits comfortable between my hips and bellybutton, where I know they'll stay regardless of how many burpees or sun salutations I'm doing. They wick sweat and seem to stand up to the test of time, resisting the pilling, fading, or stretching that I've seen in many other brands. In fact, I still regularly wear several pairs that I got more than two years ago. Plus, the leggings are actually really cute, with new styles and patterns released each year. They look nice enough that you can easily wear them out and about doing errands, in addition to in the gym. And while they're form-fitting, they're not so restrictive that you'd feel like a stuffed sausage (see: previously mentioned "sculpting" leggings) if you're just lounging around on the couch. Did I mention Target's C9 Champion leggings cap out at $40 per pair? It doesn't get much better than that, people. Here are a few pairs that I'm coveting right now: Tight on time?
