A politician from tbe Coastal region has told President Uhuru Kenyatta, NASA leader Raila Odinga and former President Daniel Moi to support Deputy President William Ruto win 2022 presidency. President Uhuru Kenyatta has already declared his support for Ruto once he finishes his second term. Raila is expected to support one of the NASA co-principals who would be picked to contest for the presidency in 2022. President Moi's son, Gideon Moi, is seen by many as positioning himself for the big seat once Uhuru leaves State House Campaigns for the 2022 presidency seem to have kicked-off in earnest even before President Uhuru Kenyatta settles in office for his second term after winning a disputed election in October 2017. Talk of the 2022 general election especially for the presidency is gaining momentum each day with politicians from each side picking on their preferred candidates. Deputy president William Ruto is billed as the front-runner with stiff competition expected to be mounted by a candidate who would be fronted by the Opposition coalition National Super Alliance (NASA). Coast politician Simon Adalla who lost the Nyali Constituency seat to journalist Mohammed Ali, has thrown his weight behind the Deputy President and urged Kenya's influential political families to return a favour to the DP explaining he was behind their respective successes. Adalla vied on the Green Congress of Kenya party ticket but he was seen as leaning more to NASA in the campaigns. According to him, Ruto was instrumental in Moi retaining his seat in the wake of multiparty politics due to his involvement in the 1992 KANU Youth win. In 2007 elections, Ruto was instrumental in delivering the Kalenjin vote to Raila and stood by the ODM leader's side during the disputed election results and thus it was time for Raila to return the favour. And in the 2013 elections, Ruto shelved his presidential bid and threw his weight behind Uhuru and the duo won the hotly contested elections beating the Raila-led Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD). With all these, Adalla said it was only fair for the trio to support Ruto win the 2022 presidential race, as reported by Diaspora Messenger.
