A gruesome road accident along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway has claimed the lives of more than 30 people and left 18 seriously injured. The accident occurred early in the morning involving a Nairobi bound bus and a truck headed in the opposite direction. Rift Valley Traffic Enforcement Officer Zero Arome said that the accident occurred at 3am and that the bus may have had faulty breaks. He added that the casualties have been removed from the scene and those injured rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital and Molo Sub-County Hospital. “We have 30 dead and two are from the truck. All the bodies have been removed from the wreckages and injured people taken to hospital.” Arome said. The accident occurred at Migaa, 10 kilometres from Salgaa where 12 people perished in another early morning accident last month and 3 kilometres from the scene of another accident that claimed 20 lives on 12th December. The latest accident at Migaa brings the number of lives lost through road carnages in December 2017 to over 250 with over 100 lost on the Salgaa stretch alone. Local leaders, celebrities and the public alike took to social media to condemn road accidents and call for action to make our roads safe: Starehe MP Charles Njagua -Jaguar My prayers and sincere condolences to the families relatives and friends of the victims caught in the tragic Migaa accident.
