Businessman Kimani Rugendo is among six Kenyans feted by the UK’s prestigious Commonwealth University a fortnight ago for spearheading change and progress in the retail and economic space in the country.
The founder of food and beverage company Kevian Kenya Limited was awarded a honourary doctorate degree alongside other five Kenyans in a group of 40 Africans who graduated from the university.
The billionaire was among other well recognised names in the country including Supreme Court Judge Smokin Wanjala, former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Margaret Mwachanya, Parliamentary Service Commission commissioner Adan Keynan and Tinderet Ward MCA Samwel Kipkirui Chepkwony who were feted.
Mr Rugendo attributed his achievements, including the honourary degree, to consistency, perseverance and focus which made him think about business as a long-term commitment that should also contribute to changing and improving lives.
