Musalia Mudavadi's ANC has insisted that NASA leader Raila Odinga is out the 2022 presidential race. ANC said Mudavadi will vie for the presidency in 2022 as he is Kenya's president in waiting. Raila's ODM had earlier claimed that Musyoka's Wiper, ANC and Wetangula's Ford Kenya party betrayed NASA supporters by failing to show up at Uhuru Park on January 30. On Wednesday, March 7, ANC secretary general Barack Muluka claimed on live TV that Raila duped his co-principals hours before he took controversial oath at Uhuru Park Musalia Mudavadi will be one of the front men in the 2022 Presidential race since as Raila Odinga will not be in the ballot, ANC party has now claimed Through ANC secretary general Barack Muluka, the NASA-allied party exuded confidence that Mudavadi would be the man to beat in the next presidential election. Muluka was speaking during a live TV discussion on March 7 where he faulted Raila Odinga for allegedly duping the other three co principals in the build up to the controversial swearing in ceremony. Earlier reports spoke of how Raila had recently revealed that “a few cowards” has abandoned him and his cause at the 11th hour. Raila was addressing mourners on Saturday, March 3 in Alego, Siaya county, where he revealed he anticipated an impending act of betrayal from one of his close allies. “Even Jesus was betrayed by one of his closest disciples Judas,” He said. “Some people may want to betray us,” He added without necessarily elaborating on who he was referring to. But Muluka argues that while Raila was alleging a betrayal, it was in fact the other NASA co principals who felt aggrieved. “I have to tell the country the truth. The Nasa agreement states that the party that produced presidential candidate in 2017 will not present presidential candidate in 2022.Trying to demonise people as cowards and betrayers is wrong,” Muluka explained. Muluka further said that Raila Odinga would have to abide by the agreement between the NASA-allied parties and completely shelf his presidential ambitions. The announcement of Mudavadi as another potential candidate in the 2022 presidential race brings a new dynamic in the impending fallout among NASA co principals as leaders such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula have also assured that they would be contesting for the top seat come 2022.
