Infighting in NASA threatens to split the opposition outfit as affiliate parties fight for powerful parliamentary committee positions.ANC has accused ODM of sidelining other NASA affiliate parties and has threatened to ditch the opposition coalition.Raila Odinga's elder brother Oburu Oginga has accused Jubilee Party of causing confusion in NASA President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party has a hand in the conflict rocking Raila Odinga's National Super Alliance (NASA), TUKO.co.ke has learnt. The opposition coalition made up of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Amani National Congress (ANC), Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) and Ford Kenya has been battling to contain infighting that threatens to break it. The fights were more visible during nomination and appointment of members to crucial parliamentary committee positions and election of members to the plum East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA). For instance, some members of the Odinga-led ODM from coastal region threatened to ditch the party claiming they had been shortchanged by their counterparts from Nyanza region who are close to their party leader. Another row emerged after Musalia Mudavadi's ANC party claimed it had been shortchanged by the ODM in election of members to powerful parliamentary committees and threatened to walk out of the coalition. Yet, another ugly scene emerged when NASA CEO Norman Magaya who is a ANC member, accused Raila Odinga's elder brother Oburu Oginga of edging him out of the EALA position. But, Oburu has come out guns blazing absolving himself of blame and pointed an accusing finger at Jubilee Party which he said was fanning the disagreements within the opposition outfit. According to him, Jubilee had crafted a away of unanimously voting for ODM legislators to plum positions and later turn out to accuse it of discriminating other NASA affiliate parties. To him, all NASA parties were given slots to fill and said that he was nominated by ODM while Magaya was nominated by his ANC party and that he had, like many other opposition leaders, wished that Magaya would be elected. However, Oburu noted that Magaya's candidature was opposed by Jubilee legislators who plotted to deny him the chance and instead accused ODM of blocking his chances and planting seeds of discord in the opposition. Had it not been the mischief by Jubilee, Magaya would be a member of the EALA, he said during an event in Siaya county where he accused Jubilee of being behind the conflict in NASA.
