Weed for Christmas: 80 year-old- nabbed ferrying bhang worth Sh34 million

Police in the US state of Nebraska got the shock of their lives after they stopped an elderly couple only to discover that they were was ferrying a huge junk of marijuana. According to the York News-Times, police stopped the couple for a routine check-up after the driver of the vehicle failed to signal while making a turn. Police were then met with the smell of raw marijuana prompting a search of the vehicle and impounded the marijuana worth a whopping Sh34,624,800 hidden in boxes. Patrick Jiron, 80, was immediately arrested and slapped with a Sh10,305,000 bond. He was released after he posted 10 percent of the bond. When asked why they had the marijuana in their possession without a drug tax stamp, the couple stated that they were Christmas presents. They stated that they were traveling to Vermont from Clearlake Oaks, California, and were intending to hand them out as Christmas presents. The man’s 70 year old wife was not jailed.
