Why women winning the battle of sexes is not just a loss to the men but the entire family

News have it that men have increasingly become emasculated. Some, despite being grownups, still live with their parents and even have the temerity to nag them for pocket money.  Some women have raised the red flag, complaining that there is an influx of boys, masquerading as men. There are complaints that some of these sissies have no qualms moving into women’s houses. Others even shamelessly borrow money from women. Whichever way one looks at it, men are slowly losing the battle of the sexes to women with the rise of women gradually turning men into boys. Thing is, economies across the world are transitioning from brawn to brain. Consequently, this has led to massive shrinking of men’s share of the labour force. The genesis of all this is that more and more women are getting better educated than men. Consequences? We now have a silent coup It is like there is a sisterhood movement of sorts going on. Look, the more women get educated, the more they join workforce, creating domestic job opportunities in their homes for the less educated fellow women. Basically, it’s a win win situation for women. Women have caught up with men and overtaken them in a couple of sectors. As this goes on, men continue to maintain a strong lead in criminality, alcoholism, joblessness, laziness and living recklessly, among other vices. As men nurse hangovers of throwback masculinity and discriminate against jobs, women are adopting and raiding male-heavy industries and careers. In Nairobi, for instance, more women now do security and construction work, yet men still find selling groceries such a ‘womanly’ job that is beneath them. Sticking to the old script of masculinity is costing men in a major way. When men lose, women and family at large lose. In a nutshell, family and society at large will win if we complement each other. Meanwhile, men have to get more creative and expand the definition of masculinity and start embracing girly jobs or else as women get richer, men will continue to get poorer and depend on women.
