Hon Liza Chelule, Nakuru County Women Rep, has launched a campaign aimed at rescuing and restoring the dignity of the boy child within her county. The move by the legislature comes after the dismal academic performance of boys in the latest national exams as well as rampant prosecution of boys in Nakuru. “I have started this campaign in the county’s 55 wards to ensure our society doesn’t run short of real men,” Hon Chelule said. She continued that if boys are neglected then educated girls would lack good husbands in future. She also urged parents to monitor the behaviours of their children and counsel them to live moral lives. She was speaking during the training of over 200 initiates at Keringet AGC Church. The event was also graced by Boy Child Kenya chairman Samuel Karanja who talked to the boys about the implications of harassing female teens and other sexual offences.
