Kenyan MPs are not amused by the wave of cyberbullying targeted at them. While some have complained of being conned off money, others complained of disturbing photos and messages sent to their phones. Minority Whip Junet Mohammed lamented that the criminals had found their numbers and were using them to send dangerous pictures. "Some of them you may not even stand watching them with naked eyes, as they show parts of human anatomy that are disturbing,” he said. Majority Leader Aden Duale echoed his sentiments by revealing how a woman had mobilized numbers of male legislators to whom she sent obscene pictures to. “I am told she lives somewhere in Dandora. She sends us obscene pictures that can be very embarrassing. Another one has a parody account, complete with my photo and asks for Sh2000 in application fees claiming that I am offering jobs,” Duale said. The complaints drove Speaker Justin Muturi to request for a probe by the house committee on rising cases of cyber-bullying. Duale rallied the fast-tracking of the Cyber Crimes Bill, which is coming up for second reading next week, saying it would tame the criminals. Additional reporting by Cyrus Ombati
