Under-pressure Pogba claims ‘it might be my last World Cup - 8 months ago, 24 June 13:12
Paul Pogba suggests that the 2018 World Cup in Russia could actually be his last.
Pogba has played in both of France’s games thus far in the tournament, netting the winner in their 2-1 opening victory over Austraila.
But the French media have called for his removal from the starting line-up at numerous points.
It follows a difficult season at club level for Manchester United, where he was also benched on numerous occasions.
The midfielder acknowledges that, as time goes on, his status at international level will inevitably be challenged.
“It might be my last World Cup,” Pogba said.
“I’m realistic, we don’t know if I’ll be called up, maybe other players will be better than me.
“I hope I’ll play more. I’ve already had the chance to play two, some can only dream to play one.”
